About Us

The Barn Owl started in 2013 in downtown Stony Plain, sharing the space with another business, and nailed our country home decor vibe right away. Karla took over the store at the beginning of The Plaque in 2000, which while not being optimal, showed that our combination of merchandise and staff mattered to people. In January of 2023 we began offering classes in painting, soap making, glass, macrame and more! We were surprised at the eagerness in which people came out for a nice evening, booked staff and family events. We are told again and again how much folks appreciate the little touches an extra mile we go to make their class a special event. It also means that they fill up early so check out our current schedule. We can't wait to meet you!

A hidden gem in Stony Plain! Christmas in July craft night was amazing. Our group of 9 people was well taken care of by the owner Karla (along with the other group of 6 that was there). She made it even more fun and had amazing tips and tricks. Would definitely recommend. Also...

CANCELLATION POLICY

- In the event that you are unable to attend a class created by The Barn Owl, we offer the option to transfer you to another class or provide you with a take-home project kit. If we are unable to made the project into a kit (due to the large variety and tools required to participate) or are not offering that class again you will be provided with a store credit. - Please note that tickets for classes brought into the store are non-refundable if you are unable to attend. You may transfer to a guest of your choosing but they must be willing to complete the project you purchased. - We strictly prohibit the selling of tickets through third-party platforms due to the prevalence of scams.

RETURN POLICY

Please note that all items marked as sale are considered final sale, meaning they cannot be returned or exchanged. Our return policy allows for returns within 7 days of purchase, however, any returns requested after this timeframe will require a valid receipt. Please be aware that personal items and items purchased from local vendors are not eligible for return or exchange.

WORKSHOP SAFTEY POLICY

-I hereby absolve The Barn Owl of any responsibility in the event of injuries occurring at their store or workshop. By accepting these terms, I release The Barn Owl from all liability, including financial obligations, for any injuries sustained, regardless of the cause. -I also release The Barn Owl from any liability for damage to clothing or footwear that may happen at their store/workshop. Although aprons are provided, guests are advised to wear attire that is not susceptible to paint damage. By agreeing to these terms, I agree to hold The Barn Owl harmless from any liability, including financial responsibility for damages incurred, regardless of the cause. -I confirm that I do not have any conditions that would increase my risk of injury during this activity. By registering, I waive my right to take legal action against The Barn Owl for any reason.
